Sea Growth Participates in Iceland–Norway Presidential Delegation on the Blue Economy
In April, Sea Growth participated in Iceland’s President, Halla Tómasdóttir's, official state visit to Norway, which placed a strong emphasis on bilateral cooperation in the blue economy and the green transition.
The business programme, organised by Business Iceland and Innovation Norway, in collaboration with the Norwegian-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce, Fisheries Iceland, Iceland Ocean Cluster, and Green by Iceland, brought together representatives from industry, research institutions, and public bodies to discuss shared priorities for sustainable ocean-based value creation.
Sea Growth contributed to the Blue Economy Business Forum at the SINTEF Centre in Trondheim, led by Þór Sigfússon, PhD, founder of the Iceland Ocean Cluster. The forum focused on innovation pathways, technological readiness, and the role of emerging solutions in supporting policy objectives related to food security, climate resilience, and sustainable resource use. Sea Growth presented its perspective on cultivated seafood as a complementary approach to conventional fisheries and aquaculture.
Additional meetings throughout the visit, including engagements with academic and industry stakeholders, underscored the importance of Nordic collaboration in aligning innovation, regulation, and market development for future ocean industries.
